Innovation as a Cure-All

Have you ever wondered about how comfortable modern automobile drivers have it? These days you can push a button and your vehicle can maintain constant speed, adjusting acceleration for the terrain. It may not be the safest button, but it sure is helpful for long drives on relatively uncongested highways. Several years ago, the gentleman who holds the patent (Daniel Wisner) was awarded at an alumni banquet at my alma mater. He has some other great patents too, one having to do with the electronics undergirding antilock brakes.
