Abstract

In modern days we can observe that there is an exponential increase in the usage of the electrical equipment in our home. Often we may forget to turn off the fan or light, which increases the power consumption and results in lots of wastage of electricity. We have seen that there is an increase in gas leak accident cases these days, which causes tremendous life and collateral loss. So to provide a solution for this we have designed our model to solve the existing problems. The aim of the project is to develop an IoT-based home automation system which includes home appliances like fan, light and gas detection. We will control the fan and light through Google Assistant using voice commands. ThingSpeak is a free IoT-based cloud server which is used to store or analyse the data using MATLAB; it will be linked to IFTTT, which is an acronym for “If This Then That”, which is used to create the trigger based on the events. By using Google Assistant in the IFTTT the voice commands will be given as input and webhook will be given as output. The user can give commands to Google Assistant to control home appliances like fan and lights. The commands will be sent to microcontroller ...
