Abstract
India is a global agricultural powerhouse and farmers are the backbone of it. Here, most of the economic income comes from agriculture. However, an ever-increasing incidence of suicides among farmers is registered. These are attributable to the losses incurred due to low price for crops, loss of crops due to diseases or natural calamities. Additionally, the labour charges are also huge. Production damages due to bugs and viruses are approximately 15% and 35% of the entire harvest. Improper maintenance and protection of crops leads to more infections and affects overall productivity.
This paper presents a simple plant monitoring system made for disease detection and analysis. This system will help the farmer identify what type of diseases their plants are being affected with. We have created a web application where, with the help of neural network classification, the image is processed, and the status of the leaf is analyzed. The system also prescribes medicines for the diseases of the plants. The farmer uploads a picture of his crop and instantly gets the results. The web application is available in three different languages, Hindi, English and Tamil.
