Nanophotonics is a newly developing and an exciting field, with two main areas of interest: imaging/vision and devices for sensing and information transport. By nanophotonics one usually refers to the science and devices involving structures with submicron dimensions (specifically less than 100 nm) and which are interacting with photons.
