Design Standards Development

Abstract

Chapter 17 covers the design standards that help ensure a consistent look for all drawing packages published by a designer or design firm. Design standards also improve quality and consistency of design projects, reduce the possibility for errors, and improve the quality of the installation in the field. This chapter includes design standards on subjects as far afield as grounding and powering, environmental issues, power issues, wiring practices, wire dressing, mounting devices and drawing and specification standards.
