Abstract

The proposed system is based on the camera-based product and person identification for blind persons. The main aim of this chapter is to help the blind users, so we have proposed a camera-based method to detect the object of interest, while the blind user simple capture the object for a couple of seconds. To identify the product first the images are saved in the data base and the images are detected by using the MATLAB software. In MATLAB, the image processing is done by using image acquisition tool box, and the output of the MATLAB is transmitted to processor. The IoT-based Raspberry pi is used for interfacing with mat lab software. It verifies the image with the data base images which were saved before and particular product or person is identified. Image is captured by using web camera and it will process image such that name of the person or product is produced through an earphone as a voice output to blind users. The complete details of the product are announced, so the visually impaired people can easily identify his friends or product. ...
