Abstract

Nowadays, cyber-crime is growing in the world exploiting the personal information of internet users. The emergence of the field of big data and the conventional analysis techniques to handle a huge amount of data leads to unsatisfactory results; viz, the generated data isn't handled effectively. Consequently, the rate of crime prediction and prevention would be low. Therefore, there is a need to use big data analysis techniques to increase the prediction and prevention of the crime-rate.

In this chapter, an overview of BigData and cyber-crime are presented along with the need of big data analysis in cybercrime. Moreover, different BigData analysis techniques like methodology of Van der Hulst, The Process Cross Industry for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) methodology, and the methodologyof AMPA are discussed to present their roles in crime prediction and prevention. Also, the most important big data security techniques.

This chapter is organized in five sections as follow: first section provides the aims of the present chapter. Second section provides a brief overview of big data and cyber-crime. Third section discusses different big data analysis techniques. In the fourth section, the important big data security techniques ...
