CULTURE AND GOVERNANCE

A company’s culture is the keeper of its mindset. It’s how a company infuses its responsible innovation ethos into every employee and stakeholder—and pushes away those who don’t buy into that ethos.

A company’s governance is the protector of its mechanisms. The board must understand how the business model, algorithmic canaries, and relevant metrics support the mindset, and then defend those elements when they come under pressure.

And so it follows that any leadership team determined to practice responsible innovation has to be intentional and thoughtful about culture and governance.
