Description and Purpose

Guided Notes provide students with an organizational structure for taking notes during a lecture. In particular, the notes present students with specific questions to answer or blanks to fill in as the lecture progresses. The questions or blanks typically prompt students to identify and write in key facts, concepts, or relationships (Heward, 2001).
