7 Interactive Narratives
Interactive narratives offer the viewer varying degrees of navigational control of the story. Pathways may be formulated and plotted to create new experiences and interpretations of the text. Multiple perspectives create a unique experience for each viewer. In production terms, interactivity within the narrative creates redundant content, scenes that may never be viewed, chapters that may never be read. This has made interactive film costs prohibitive. However, the potential of interactive narratives to create a new storytelling paradigm is both exciting and ambitious.
