There are many features of MHP and OCAP we have not covered elsewhere in this book. This chapter looks at three features useful to application developers and network operators: managing the return channel and connecting to external servers, tuning to a new transport stream, and controlling one application from another. We will see how developers can use these features to extend the capabilities of their applications.
In this chapter, we will look at some of the more advanced APIs in MHP and OCAP. These provide functionality many applications will not need to use, but some applications may find them useful.
