17.1 Introduction

As already discussed in Chapter 14, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) formed a new Working Group called ROLL (Routing Over Low-power and Lossy networks; http://www.ietf.org/dyn/wg/charter/roll-charter.html) in 2008 with the objective of specifying routing solutions for Low-power and Lossy Networks (LLNs).
