Container Tracking

In the information age, it is easy to forget that global trade is as much about physical items being moved across the world as it is about information being transferred across the Internet. Every day there are over 6 billion tons of goods transported in over 12 million containers across the world. In the United States alone over 17,000 containers are loaded and unloaded every day.

Approximately 90% of the world’s traded goods are shipped inside so-called intermodal containers used for loading goods onto ships, trains, and freighter airplanes.
