Address strobe – A pulse or logic level generated by the address decode logic in response to particular address being loaded into the program sequence control register.
Aliasing – An undesirable effect caused by sampling a periodic waveform less than twice per period, this results in an apparent reduction in the frequency of the waveform. In audio signal processing this sounds like gross distortion.
Analogue to digital converter – (Often abbreviated to A-to-D or ADC). Typically an integrated circuit or ‘chip’ which converts an analogue voltage into a parallel digital number, usually in a binary form; characterized principally by the number of parallel binary output(s) (the more the better) and the conversion time (the shorter the ...
