Demographic change, in interaction with the health and education of people of all ages, is at the core of human development. The most comprehensive modeling of population tracks the aging of sex-specific cohorts across time, adding new birth cohorts and subtracting deaths. Representation of cause-specific mortality and morbidity in a health model is important in itself and can further enhance population modeling. The same is true of representation of education participation of children and age-/sex-specific education attainment of adults. Having such extensive modeling of human development facilitates modeling of economic development, social change, and environmental impact.
