Functional Testing

If a website is visually acceptable and testing has borne that out, the next objective is to prove the site performs the tasks; interfaces with other software, files, or a database management system (DBMS); and navigates as specified in its design documentation. Depending on the purpose and scope of the website, the testing plan should include zone tests that exercise and stress each of the separate functional components that make up the website.
