The Internet of Things
The Internet of Things (IoT) could also be called the Internet of Smart Things or the Internet of Smart Things That Communicate with Each Other. The last two of these names are a bit more descriptive of what the IoT really is. Connor Craven, in an article on the SDX Central website, describes IoT this way:
An IoT network refers to a collection of interconnected devices that communicate with other devices without the need for human involvement, such as autonomous cars, smart appliances, and wearable tech.
There is certainly more to IoT than he describes, but his statement does hit all of the important parts and purpose of this technology.
