Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 introduces the IIS Command-line Administration Tool (AppCmd.exe) to complement the expanding role of IIS administrators and developers. AppCmd provides an extensible command-line environment for IIS 7.0 that builds on the existing framework provided by Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0. When you install IIS 7.0 on a server or desktop computer running Windows Vista, Setup installs AppCmd when you select the IIS Management Scripts and Tools role service.
