Chapter 11. Making VoIP Accessible Throughout Your Home
Now that we have connected a VoIP service and checked that it works, we can tackle the next piece of the puzzle. So far, we have a single corded phone handset connected to our terminal adapter.
This is typically not practical for most homes for the following reasons:
It only allows you to place your phone wherever you have your Internet access (that is, alongside your broadband modem and wireless router that provide your home network), because this is where the terminal adapter has to be plugged in.
A single phone handset is usually not enough for most households, particularly if you have teenagers who seem to use the phone most of the time.
