THE RELATIONSHIP

A major theme of this training material is that the development of an open, trusting relationship between the helping funeral director and those persons seeking assistance underlies any approach to the helping process. While developing a relationship can be time-consuming, a skilled helping funeral director can guide this development so the relationship can aid family members in a short period of time. Obviously, development of a trusting relationship becomes critical during the “at need” time immediately following the death of someone loved.
