Chapter . Overview of the Winners
As in past years, the 2009 Design Annual winners emerged from widely different backgrounds and diverse development experiences.
Six Countries
The 10 winning intranets serve organizations based in six countries: the US had three winners and five other countries had one winner each. Those five countries are Germany and four countries that are making their first-ever appearance in our DA: Brazil, Denmark, France, and Iceland. And, as is appropriate to our times, one of the remaining winning organizations has remote employees throughout the world and claims no country as its headquarters and the other is a global network of independent member firms.
