The U.S. Government’s Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has two (of several) databases that relate to areas that do not have sufficient medical resources to meet the needs of the people in those areas. The databases relate to Medically Underserved Areas (MUAs) and Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). Information about them, and a lot of other interesting data, may be found at the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (
www.hrsa.gov).
Since each of these two databases deals with areas that have something in common, it would be interesting to contrast them.
