In this chapter, I’ll introduce some concepts that will be explored throughout this book. Specifically, I’ll introduce the development environments used throughout this book, memory management, and the abstract concept of composite type pointers in various programming languages.

I will be using the following programming languages in this book:

• C++ as the primary programming language

• Assembly programming language
