Applying Conditional Formatting

Conditional formatting is one of the most important features you can use in InfoPath to alert users of out-of-range, undesirable, or suspect values when they’re entering data. Conditional formatting doesn’t flag those values as errors; usually, it provides users a visual clue that the data is or might be incorrect. Chapter 8 describes declarative data validation rules that define erroneous entries. You apply conditional formatting primarily to text boxes; conditional formatting is disabled for date pickers, both list box types, check boxes, and option groups. Conditional formatting can apply any or all font attributes, change the font and background colors, or hide or disable the control.
