Chapter 6. Reason's Samplers

Reason's sampler instruments, the NN-19 Digital Sampler and the NN-XT Advanced Sampler, are two of the program's most powerful devices. Both samplers are extremely versatile and can be used as virtual drum machines, pianos, or any number of synthesizers or keyboards. They can be used to trigger loops (although without the time stretching options and pitch shifting options available with the Dr. Rex), and they are both excellent tools for working with sound effects or creating sample-based vocal arrangements. The NN-19 and the NN-XT also contain editing features that can fix, distort, enhance, or mangle any sound to create new instruments, textures, and sound effects.
