Silverlight is a client-side technology. This means any server can host a Silverlight application deployment package since there is no dependence on IIS or ASP.NET. For many applications, the only configuration that may be required on the server for the Silverlight application itself is that the MIME type support the Silverlight XAP package. Note that you still have to deploy any resources, custom services, or custom components that are not part of the Silverlight deployment package on the server.
