Database Basics
In this chapter, we are going to look at databases: what they are, the types available to us, and how we manage them. We’ll also take a look at some basic server settings, including security.
What Is a Database?
Think of a database as a container, with different compartments. Have you ever seen a neatly partitioned lunchbox? It might have a section for your sandwiches, a section for your salad, and a section for a tasty chocolate bar.
