Chapter 33. Windows Presentation Foundation

The Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) is a relatively new addition to .NET and is an alternative to Windows Forms for creating user interfaces. WPF and Windows Forms both continue to be developed and supported by Microsoft, but WPF receives more of Microsoft's love and attention.

On one hand, there is nothing you can do with WPF that you can't also do with Windows Forms. On the other, WPF is clearly the future of .NET user interface development, and my belief is that, over time, Microsoft will place less emphasis on Windows Forms until it eventually becomes a legacy technology (I suspect that this would already have happened were it not for the fact that many corporate customers have a deep commitment ...
