Part I. Getting Started

Welcome to the first part of this book. This is an introduction to C#, which means I have been careful to explain everything you need to know to be an effective and productive C# programmer. We are going to start slowly. In Chapter 1, I'll tell you what is in this book, what prior experience you should have, and what you can expect to find in a typical chapter. I'll also give you some useful references to other sources of information. It can often be helpful to get different treatments of the same concept when learning a new programming language.
