Nearline and offline backup solutions
In this chapter we explain how to combine the IBM Real-time Compression Appliance with several nearline and offline backup solutions. This will enable the reader to understand the benefits of real-time compression in the complete data life-cycle.

SnapVault is a replication based disk to disk backup for IBM System Storage N series or Network Appliance filers. It creates full point-in-time copies on disk. It uses a block incremental methodology.
