GLOSSARY
AC An acronym that refers to armored cable (as well as alternating current).
Ampacity A wire’s ability to carry electrical current.
Albedo The reflection off of any and all surfaces that may impact energy gain to the panel.
Battery charge control device A device that controls and regulates the battery charging process.
Blocking diodes Diodes used to prevent undesired current flow. In a PV array, the diode is used to prevent current flow toward a failed module or from the battery to the PV array during periods of darkness or low current production.
Cell stringing Connecting PV cells in series to combine output.
