ADHERING TO THE DIRECTOR’S VISION
In the previous chapter, although we did not say it, we made the assumption that, in order for the director and choreographer to actually have begun their work with performers, all of the scenic designs were approved. This being the case, we can now look at how the designers go about adhering to the director’s vision and realizing their respective designs.
Once the director’s vision is accepted by the producer and creators, then the general manager begins the process of hiring the main designers (scenic, costume, lighting, and sound), as well as some of the specialty designers (special effects, flying, automation, etc.).
