Commissioning, maintenance (servicing) and fault location
This chapter covers four areas. These are testing the system, regulatory authority requirements, fault finding and customer care. Consideration of each of these areas is important if a system is to be installed correctly. Ideally, the next time a technician should visit after installation is on the first inspection. If the system develops an early fault then the profit from the maintenance contract begins to diminish. If the fault is not cleared expediently then the system becomes both a technical and financial burden.
