Monday, June 6th

That Monday meeting didn’t happen.

Instead, Monday morning started with IUI’s customer-facing website going down. Customers couldn’t bank for nearly twelve hours. The Kraken team was pulled off Turbo Eureka and everyone was in firefighting mode, working well into the night trying to fix the problem.

Initially the blame was on IUI’s cloud hosting vendor. But the issue turned out to be a gremlin in a “lift-and-shift-to-cloud” project named Omega that IUI had hired an outside firm to assist with and which was completed months ago.
