Chapter 3, “IP Multicast at Layer 3,” addressed the different protocol independent multicast (PIM) modes and how those modes affected the growing or building of multicast trees. You saw the significant role that the rendezvous point (RP) played in establishing PIM sparse-mode and BiDir trees.
