14.2. Prerequisites for Successful IP Storage Deployment
For block storage data over IP to be successful, a series of technical thresholds must be crossed. These include standards compliance, interoperability, performance, management, and the ability to integrate the installed base of storage products. Given the momentum behind IP networking and the engineering resources available to solve IP-related issues, it is largely a matter of when, not if, these issues will be resolved.
