Chapter 3. Edit Video
Video is magic. The brain interprets a succession of still frames as motion, and even though we know that the action in a video clip isn’t “real,” to some degree we believe that it is. We empathize with the characters, marvel at the locations, and follow the story—no matter the content, documentary or fiction. A child playing outside can be just as compelling as a science fiction adventure, and at no point do we say, “Look at how those 30 frames are working together every second.”
