Your iPhone or iPad may look like it’s only running one app at a time, but that point of view hides what’s really going on in the background. At any moment, your apps may be working in the background, taking in additional data or monitoring your location to provide assistance when you call on the app again. Or, in the case of audio, you could be playing several different audio apps at the same time. You can work with an app in the foreground, but apps can also function in the background.
