Looking after my iPad's battery
Your iPad should operate for around ten hours before it needs to be recharged. This is how much active use you can expect, rather than the standby time. The iPad won't use much power while it's idle. The battery life also varies depending on what you use the iPad for. Watching documentaries on the BBC iPlayer app may drain the battery faster than other activities.
You can always see how much battery life is left: The percentage of battery charge is displayed in the very top-right corner of the iPad's screen.
