Your iPad comes with an impressive collection of built-in apps, including Safari, Mail, Messages, Calendar, Photos, Music, and Notes. A default installation of iPadOS comes with more than 30 apps. Surely no one needs more than that, amirite?

No, I'm not. For one thing, you might want to use a third-party app instead of one of Apple's default apps. For example, maybe you prefer to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as your web browser. Maybe you're a diehard Microsoft Outlook fan. Maybe you get your musical kicks from Spotify.

For another, you might have tasks you want to perform on your iPad for which none of the default apps are suitable. Maybe you want to play a game, host a virtual meeting, or just Netflix and chill. That's fine because the App Store is home to nearly 2 million apps, which means that no matter what you want to do with your iPad, there is, as the kids say, an app for that.
