Work with Apps
Tap any app icon on your Home Screen to open it. (The next chapter, Built-In Apps and What They Do, tells you all about the apps that come with your iPhone or iPad, as well as how to add new apps from the App Store.) In this chapter, however, I want to tell you about the App Switcher, which lets you easily switch between apps, and Handoff, which gives you an easy way to move active app tasks between devices.
Switch Between Apps
Use the App Switcher to switch to a recently used app, to force-quit a malfunctioning app, or to work with Handoff:
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the App Switcher or double-press the Home button if you have one (Figure 4).
