Smart Albums, Faces, and Places

Smart albums team up beautifully with the Faces and Places features. In fact, when you’re using the Places feature, the iPhoto toolbar sports a dedicated Smart Album button (in Faces, you need to press the Option key when clicking the Create button to provide a smart album choice).

By creating a smart album for one or more faces, you can easily corral photos of specific people: Show me every photo of Mimi that I took at the beach last July. Show me every photo in which mom and I appear.

For Places, smart albums provide a few benefits. Gather photos taken at a certain location: Show me the photos I took in San Francisco last summer. Show me the San Francisco photos that have Sophie in them. Show me the nighttime ...
