Chapter 4. Enjoy Music with iTunes and Your iPod

Although iTunes and the iPod have evolved since their introduction in 2001 to support playback of video and other types of content, both were originally audio-only. It is therefore no surprise that both iTunes and the iPod support a wide range of audio features and activities.

Using iTunes, you can play music files stored on your computer as well as play CDs that you insert in your computer's CD drive. You can import these files into your iTunes library, converting them to iTunes' proprietary format. You can also use the program to find information about songs on a CD, as well as to enter and view lyrics.
