Practicing as an instructional designer can reveal a dizzying variety of challenges in a constantly changing training and education environment. It sometimes seems as though the practice of ISD changes on a daily basis. Sometimes the focus is on distance learning, sometimes on performance improvement, at other times the focus is on nothing at all and leaves designers wondering what the next wave of ISD issues will involve.
