Quality products and service assist the organization in maintaining its customer base, improving customer satisfaction, increasing customer loyalty, and reducing the risk and cost of replacing nonconforming products and services. The basic business model for most organizations is to develop products or services and to make a profit by selling them to potential customers. The customers have certain quality expectations when they buy these products and services; if these expectations are not met, the business has to face negative consequences. For all these reasons, a quality management system (QMS) is important for the business, as it addresses these issues and activities.
