Introduction

The main purpose of the project was to investigate apparent resistance to a pilot implementation of an electronic order requisitioning (ER) system initiated by the procurement department of a UK electricity generator. The project concerns a large mainframe-based financial accounting package which had been significantly customized. Analysis by procurement and IT departments showed that the package was not being used to its full potential for order requisitioning.
