Sustainability is by definition a challenge for the long term. After we have launched an IT sustainability program and it is trimming IT’s footprint, is engaging with other functions to address their footprints, and perhaps is even exploring how IT might contribute to product and service offerings that address the sustainability goals of customers, we will have created significant momentum. The question that then needs to be addressed is how do we maintain this momentum for the long term?
