7 Dispatch

Defining the contents

The term dispatch is used in various ways in everyday operations. We distinguish it from the planning by the fact that the dispatch always deals with the deployment of physical resources, i. e. named employees (Personnel Dispatch) and actual vehicles (Vehicle Dispatch). The acquisition of resources (personnel policy, fleet management) and their maintenance (further training, vehicle maintenance) is not part of the dispatch. The dispatch is, however, concerned with integrating suitable actions for maintaining resources into the operational process.
