Man Plans, God Laughs
I have always been proud of this image because it happened despite all sorts of difficulties.
It all started when I got a call from an agency to meet with one of their art directors. This is normal. When I got there, the art director said, “Actually, you have to meet with the president of the agency.” This was not normal.
I had never before been asked to sit down and have a meeting with a president of an agency. It just wasn’t the way things were done.
So we meet and this guy fills me in. “We’ve got a real problem, we’re in deep s#[†, we’re behind the 8-ball, we’re behind schedule, we have to do this thing immediately.”
“So, what’s the shot?”
“It’s two guys, each on a butte, each sitting at a huge desk across from each other ...
