Playing the Waiting Game

While I was driving around in Ocala, Florida, there was a sudden storm. The old cliché says bad weather makes good photos. It’s true, but sometimes people are frightened by bad weather. They’re afraid of the major chances of getting rained on, the lightning, and other real or imagined threats.

Years ago, I had a job to shoot in the South and, as we started on the first day, the art director came in and said, “We have to cancel the whole shoot.” Everybody groaned and we all asked, “Why?”

He said, “Because the weather report called for thunderstorms every day, plus there’s a 50% chance of rain all day.”
